Schedule Fixed Relaxation Times

Arpan Sarma, Psychologist
One effective method I had employed during my medical studies as a therapist to manage stress effectively was to block various fixed relaxation times throughout my daily schedule. As most medical colleges run on a strict routine, having planned breaks at regular intervals helped me not only focus better on my studies but also reduced my stress to a great extent. While these periods of relaxation can be used for anything, I generally preferred meditation or light reading as it helped me gather my thoughts for the day ahead.
